'Truly inspiring': Youngsters standout at piping championships - Barrhead News

Young pipers and drummers from Renfrewshire delivered standout performances at the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championships.

The event, held at Kilmarnock’s William McIlvanney Campus on March 9, saw a record-breaking number of young musicians from across Scotland take to the stage.

A total of 94 bands from 144 schools competed across eight categories, showcasing traditional and contemporary performances.

Among those taking part were youngsters from Renfrewshire Schools ‘A’ and East Renfrewshire Schools who finished third in the highly competitive Freestyle category and third in the quartets, respectively.
